How To Draw A Diplodocus: All Steps

The goal is to complete a drawing of a diplodocus by creating one area at a time. The drawing will take 6 steps to complete as we continue to create each part which will get us closer to the finished artwork. The finished drawing will be shaded with color making it a drawing you will be proud of!

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Form The Head

    How To Draw A Diplodocus: Step 1

    First, form the tiny head of the diplodocus by drawing a curved line. Next, draw a shaded oval for the eye. Now, add a small line to form its mouth.

  2. Add The Neck

    Add the long curving shape of the diplodocus’ neck attached to its head.

  3. Outline The Body

    Outline the oval shape of the diplodocus’ body. Then, draw the wavy pointed shape of the diplodocus’ tail attached to its body.

  4. Attach The Legs

    Draw the columnar legs of the diplodocus attached to the bottom of its body.

  5. Draw The Pattern

    Add the pattern along the diplodocus’ body by drawing a zigzag line.

  6. Complete The Diplodocus Drawing

    Now, add some color to the diplodocus drawing! First, use an orange crayon to color the pattern along its body. Next, use a black crayon to fill in the eye. Then, shade the rest of the diplodocus’ body using a green crayon.
