How to Draw a Ferret

Materials

In this beginner’s lesson, we are going to discover how to draw a ferret with your drawing materials. We will consider the various sizes and shapes of each part of the ferret. The pencil lines in each step is drawn in blue so you can observe the current elements that you should be working on.
Time Needed: 20 minutes

Draw The Face
First, create two circles for the eyes. Next, draw a triangle for the nose. Then, form the snout by drawing a shape around the nose. Create the bottom part of the mouth by drawing a curved line.

Form The Head
Form the rounded outline of the ferret’s head. Next, draw the fur pattern around its eyes by creating a curved line.

Add The Ears
To add the ferret’s ears, draw pointed lines on top of its head.

Outline The Body And Tail
First, outline the elongated shape of the ferret’s body. Next, draw the thin pointed shape of the ferret’s tail attached to its body.

Attach The Legs
Draw the ferret’s legs connected to the bottom of its body. Add a bump and a small curved line on the bottom of each leg to form its paws.

Complete The Ferret Drawing
Let’s finish our drawing of a ferret by adding some color! Use a pink crayon to shade the nose and inner ears. Next, shade the face, snout, mouth, outer ears and the middle of its body with a cream colored crayon. Then, use a brown crayon to color the top of its head, the fur pattern around its eyes and rest of the ferret’s body.
