How To Draw A Frog: All Steps

In this beginner’s lesson, we will learn how to draw a frog with your drawing materials. We will consider the different sizes and shapes contained in the example drawing of the frog. The pencil lines in each step is drawn out in blue so you can observe the most recent components that you will be illustrating.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Form The Eyes

    Start by drawing two lines curving downwards to form its bumpy upper eyelids. Next, draw two circles to outline the eyes. Then, add a narrow oval on each eye to draw the pupils.

  2. Outline The Body

    Next, outline the shape of the frog’s body connected to the eyes.

  3. Draw The Forelegs

    First, draw the amphibian’s thin forelegs. Then, form the shape of its toes at the end of each foreleg.

  4. Add The Hind Legs

    Now, draw its long, folded hind legs. Then, add its spread out toes attached to the end of each hind leg.

  5. Form The Mouth

    First, form the bottom part of its mouth by drawing a long wavy line connected to the top part of its foreleg. Next, draw a short wavy line to add the top part of its mouth.

  6. Complete The Frog Drawing

    Let’s add some color to our frog drawing! First, fill the inside of its mouth with a red crayon. Next, color the iris with a yellow crayon and the pupils with a black crayon. Now, use a light yellow crayon to color its underbelly. Then, shade the rest of the frog’s body using a green crayon.
