Materials

In this post, we will learn how to draw a gazelle with basic drawing tools. Pay attention to the various sizes and shapes of each part of the gazelle. The pencil lines in each step is drawn in blue so you can observe the most recent shapes that you will be creating.

Draw The Face
Draw two shaded ovals to form its eyes. Next, create a small semi-circle for its nose. Now, draw two circles attached to its nose. Then, create a line curving upwards to draw its mouth.

Outline The Head
Outline the gazelle’s head by drawing an oval shape.

Form The Horns
First, form the outline of the gazelle’s horns. Then, draw evenly spaced lines along its horns.

Add The Ears
Draw the pointed outline of the gazelle’s ears. Then, draw a diagonal line on each ear as shown.

Outline The Body
Outline the furry elongated shape of the gazelle’s body.

Attach The Legs
Draw the gazelle’s thin long legs attached to its body. Don’t forget to outline the hooves by drawing a horizontal line near the bottom of each leg.

Add The Tail
Add the short pointy shape of the gazelle’s tail.

Draw The Face Pattern
Now, let’s draw the fur pattern on the gazelle’s face by creating wavy horizontal lines as shown.

Complete The Gazelle Drawing
Let’s complete the gazelle drawing by first using a cream colored crayon to shade its snout, mouth, underbelly, the underside of its legs, and the middle part of its face. Next, use a dark brown crayon to color its horns, hooves, nose, tail, the fur pattern on its face and near its underbelly. Now, shade the inner parts of its ears with a brown crayon. Finally, use a light orange crayon to color the rest of the gazelle.
