German Shepherds have beautiful coats of fur with some distinctive coloring. Let’s learn the basics for drawing their muscular body and adding the most popular German Shepherd coloring. Draw lightly at first because you’ll have to erase a few of the lines along the way!
Time Needed: 20 minutes
Draw A Tall Oval
Draw a tall oval near the top half of your paper.
Add Large Pointed Ears
Draw a large pair of German Shepherd ears…keep them pointy!
Draw a pair of slender legs and include dog feet as well.
Now add a pear-shaped body. Also draw the hind feet as shown.
Draw a Dog Face
Add a furry chest and some of this dog’s face.
German Shepherds can be colored with a variety of brown colors.

About German Shepherds
German Shepherd dogs are considered a working dog breed. They were originally bred for herding sheep.
Although they can look similar to wolves in a way, German Shepherds are a reasonably modern dog with the oldest breeds on record dating back only about 120 years.
Because German Shepherds are incredibly smart and highly trainable, they are used worldwide assisting in a variety of fields. These incredible dogs are used by police and search and rescue teams.
They are incredibly loyal dogs which makes German Shepherds very protective over family members. When approaching an owner of a German Shepherd remember this. Approach slowly and always get permission before attempting to pet their dog.
