How to Draw a Gopher

In this article, we will begin with a new piece of paper and discover how to draw a gopher in 9 instructive steps. We will notice the proportions of each of the drawn parts of the gopher.

1. Draw The Snout

   

   First, draw the bumpy shape of the gopher’s snout. Then, create three straight lines on both sides of the snout to add the whiskers.

2. Add The Eyes And Nose

   

   Add the gopher’s eyes by drawing two circles. Now, create a semi-circle to form the nose.

3. Draw The Incisors

   

   With your pencil, draw the gopher’s incisors by drawing two rectangular shapes.

4. Outline The Body

   

   Outline the gopher’s body by drawing a line similar to the illustration.

5. Attach The Forelimbs

   

   To draw a gopher’s forelimb, first create two long lines. Then, attach a zigzag shape at the bottom to form the claws.

6. Outline The Belly

   

   Outline the gopher’s belly by drawing a curved line between the forelimbs.

7. Attach The Ears

   

   Attach the gopher’s ears by creating a V-shaped line on both sides of its head. Then, draw a curved line to form the ear flap.

8. Draw A Hole In The Ground

   

   Draw a hole in the ground by forming a horizontal shape as shown. Next, draw some grass growing around the hole by making pointy shapes.

9. Complete The Gopher Drawing

   

   Let’s give life to the gopher drawing by adding some color! First, shade the snout and belly with a yellow crayon. Use a brown crayon to color the nose. Next, fill in the incisor teeth with a white crayon. Now, shade the eyes with a black crayon and add some shine to it using a white crayon. Don’t forget to color the inner part of the ear with a pink crayon. Then, shade the rest of the gopher’s body with an orange crayon. Finally, let’s color the hole in the ground with a brown crayon and the grass with a green crayon.
