In today’s basic drawing lesson, we will learn how to draw a Halloween spider on paper. The design and proportion of each part will be observed in each step of the tutorial. Observe that the blue lines are used to show the new shapes being drawn in each in each of the steps.

Draw The Head
Start by drawing the spider’s head by creating a round shape. Next, draw three pairs of oval eyes.

Attach The Chelicerae
Attach the spider’s chelicerae which are the pincer-like appendages on its mouth by drawing two V-shaped lines.

Outline The Body
Outline the spider’s fuzzy body by drawing a wavy circle.

Add The Legs
Add the thin, long shape of the spider’s legs attached to its body. Make sure to draw four pairs of legs!

Put On The Halloween Hat
Just one last thing before the spider is ready for Halloween! First, outline a pointed hat for the spider. Then, draw the band of the hat by adding two curved lines.

Complete The Halloween Spider Drawing
Let’s now complete our Halloween spider drawing! First, use a dark purple crayon to color its legs and chelicerae. Next, color its head with a very light shade of gray. Now, shade its body with a vibrant purple. Then, use an orange crayon to color the spider’s eyes and spots on its back. Finally, fill in the rest of the spider’s hat with a black crayon.
