Time Needed: 30 minutes
Form The Dock Platform
First, let’s form a dock platform in the foreground by making a rectangular box.
Add The Planks
Add the planks on the dock platform by drawing lines as shown.
Draw The Dock Posts
Draw the dock posts by making cylindrical shapes on both sides of the dock platform. Create vertical lines on the dock posts to add some texture. Then, make curved lines on the bottom of the dock posts to draw the ripples in the water.
Draw Rocks And Grass
Let’s first add rocks by drawing ovals. Next, draw the grass by making pointed shapes as shown.
Add cattails growing near the edge of the lake by first forming the flower head using thin elongated shapes. Then, draw two lines at the bottom of each flower head to form the stalk.
Add A Boat
Let’s add a boat on the lake by first making an outline of the boat’s shape. Next, draw horizontal lines on the body of the boat. Then, add curved lines surrounding the boat to draw the ripples in the water.
Draw landforms on the background by making two long blob shapes. Then, draw lines in the water following the shape of the landforms.
Add trees behind the distant landforms by making pointy zigzag shapes as shown.
Complete The Lake Drawing
Complete the lake drawing by first coloring the dock and the boat with light brown and orange crayons. Next, color the lake with a blue crayon. After that, fill in the sky with a light blue crayon. Then fill in the grass with a green crayon. Let’s color the land masses and trees in the background with a blue green shade to add some atmospheric perspective to our drawing. Now, color the rocks with a gray crayon. Finally, fill in the flower heads using an orange crayon and the stalks using a green crayon.
