How To Draw A Lemming: All Steps

By the end of this lesson we will arrive at a finished drawing of a lemming by working on one part at a time. This project will take 6 steps in total as we continue to create each part moving closer to the completed drawing. The finished artwork will be finished off with color making it a work of art you will be proud to show off!

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Outline The Body

    Outline the elongated shape of the lemming’s body as shown.

  2. Draw The Face

    First, draw two shaded ovals for the eyes. Next, outline a rounded shape for the nose. Then, form two rectangles for the teeth.

  3. Attach The Ears

    First, draw a semi-circle to form the outline of the lemming’s ear. Next, create a C-shaped line inside the semi-circle. Then, draw the other ear by making a curved line.

  4. Form The Legs

    Form the visible legs of the lemming by drawing curved lines. Then, attach the foot at the bottom of each leg by making a curved shape with two lines.

  5. Draw The Fur Pattern

    First, create curved wavy lines connected to its nose. Then, draw another wavy line along its underbelly.

  6. Complete The Lemming Drawing

    Let’s add some color to our drawing of a lemming! First, use a dark brown crayon to color the fur on the lemming’s back. Next, use a light brown crayon to shade its underbelly and inner ear. Finally, use a brown color to fill in the rest of the lemming’s body.
