Today you’ll be learning to draw a lemur, the famous little animal from Madagascar.

Grab some art supplies and follow along with these easy 6 drawing steps.

This lesson only takes around twenty minutes or so and has a PDF near the bottom of the lesson you can easily print or download. The pdf lesson even contains a “coloring book” page with just the line art. This accompanies well with crayons. It is ideal for very young kids requiring extra guidance and simply looking to color in a cute lemur.

How To Draw A Lemur: All Steps

In today’s lesson, we are going to discover how to draw a lemur on paper. The location and proportion of each part will be pointed out in each step of the lesson. Take notice that the blue outlines are used to indicate the newest components being drawn in each step.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Form The Head

    Form the furry round shape of the lemur’s head. Next, draw two circles for its eyes. Now, create a rounded triangular shape to form its snout. Draw its nose and mouth inside the drawn snout by creating a rounded shape and a line curving upwards.

  2. Add The Ears

    Add the lemur’s ears by drawing two pointed lines on both sides of the lemur’s head.

  3. Draw The Body And Tail

    Now, create an elongated shape to form the lemur’s body. Next, attach a long curvy shape to the lemur’s body to draw its tail..

  4. Attach The Limbs

    First, form the lemur’s arms near the top part of its body as shown. Next, add the lemur’s legs attached to the bottom of its body.

  5. Create The Fur Pattern

    Now, let’s draw the fur pattern on the lemur’s head by creating a line curving upwards and drawing rounded shapes around its eyes. Next, outline the fur pattern on its belly as shown. Then, create curved lines along its tail to draw its striped tail.

  6. Complete The Lemur Drawing

    Let’s finish the lemur drawing by adding some color! First, use an orange crayon to shade its eyes. Next, use a black crayon to color its nose. Now, shade the lemur’s body and limbs with a light gray crayon. Then, color the snout, inner parts of its ears, the fur pattern on its forehead, and around its eyes with the dark gray crayon. After that, use white and black crayons to color its tail. Finally, shade the rest of the lemur with a white crayon.
