How to Draw a Mandrill

In this article, we will start with a blank piece of paper and discover how to draw a mandrill in 6 instructive steps. It’s best if we consider the proportions of each of the drawn parts of the mandrill.
Time Needed: 20 minutes

Draw The Nose
First, draw an oval shape with two dots. Next, create a curved line on both sides of the nose. Then, add horizontal lines attached to the sides of the nose as shown.

Form The Face
Now, create the curvy outline of the mandrill’s face. draw two small circles for the eyes. Next, add an oval with a line curving upwards to form the mouth.

Outline The Head
Outline the furry rounded shape of the mandrill’s mane. Next, draw small curved lines on each side of the mandrill’s head to form its ears.

Add The Body And Tail
Draw the elongated shape of the mandrill’s body. Add a curved line to form its rump. Then, draw the short pointed shape of its tail.

Attach The Limbs
Form the shape of the mandrill’s limbs attached to the bottom of its body as shown. Don’t forget to add the hands and feet to the end of the limbs.

Complete The Mandrill Drawing
Complete the mandrill drawing by first coloring the nose and rump with a bright shade of pink. Use a blue crayon to color the cheeks of the mandrill. Color the top part of its face with a black crayon. Then, use a peach crayon to color the mouth, ears, hands and feet of the mandrill. Use a light brown crayon to color the head and a light gray crayon to color the underbelly. Finally, use a dark brown crayon to shade the rest of the mandrill.
