This tutorial will teach you how to draw a meerkat. We will draw attention to the shapes of each section and variety of outlines drawn ensuring that the artwork looks right.

Draw The Facial Features
Draw two shaded circles to form the meerkat’s eyes. Next, form a rounded triangle to create its nose. Finally, attach a curvy line to the meerkat’s nose to form the mouth.

Outline The Head
Outline the head by drawing a curvy shape around the face of the meerkat.

Attach The Ears
Draw a curvy line attached to both sides of the meerkat’s head to form the ears. Don’t forget to add a line in the middle to emphasize the meerkat’s inner ears.

Form The Body
Draw an elongated shape attached to the head to form the body of the meerkat.

Add The Limbs
Add limbs to the meerkat by drawing arms and legs as shown in the illustration.

Outline The Belly
Draw a vertical line attached to the meerkat’s head going to the bottom of its body to highlight the underbelly.

Draw The Meerkat Patterns
First, draw rounded shapes around the eyes and a curved line on top of the head to form the meerkat’s head patterns. Draw pointed shapes on the meerkat’s back to form the patterns on its back.

Attach The Tail
Draw a narrow curvy shape attached to the body of the meerkat to create the tail.

Complete The Meerkat Drawing
To complete the meerkat drawing, let us first use a black crayon to shade the inner ears and nose. Next, use a dark brown crayon to fill in the patterns around the body and face along with the tip of the tail, outer ears, and feet. Then, use a cream colored crayon to shade the face and belly. Finally, use a brown crayon to color the rest of the meerkat’s bodies.
