In this lesson, we will start with a blank piece of paper and discover how to draw a milkshake in 9 instructive steps. It’s best if we pay attention to the shape and size of each of the drawn parts of the milkshake.

Outline The Tall Glass
First, draw a U-shape to outline the tall glass.

Add The Texture
Add the texture of the tall glass by creating four vertical lines.

Attach The Base
Attach the base of the tall glass by drawing the shape similar to the illustration.

Outline The Milkshake
Draw a bumpy inverted V-shaped line as shown to outline the milkshake.

Form The Milkshake’s Shape
Create three wavy lines to form the shape of the milkshake.

Add The Straw
Add the straw by drawing an inverted U-shaped line on the right side of the milkshake.

Draw The Straw’s Opening
Draw the straw’s opening by creating a curved line connecting the corners of the straw.

Create The Pattern
Create the pattern on the straw by drawing diagonal lines as shown.

Complete The Milkshake Drawing
Let’s complete the milkshake illustration by coloring the tall glass with a mix of blue and purple crayons. Next, use a brown crayon to color the milkshake. Then, use white and red crayons alternatingly to color the straw. To add a bit of dimension to our drawing, use a purple crayon to shade the sides and opening of the straw.
