How to Draw a Mongoose

Materials
- Pencil
- Drawing Paper
- Crayons or Colored Pencils
- Black Marker (optional)

The goal is to arrive at a finished drawing of a mongoose by working on one part at a time. This project will take 6 steps in total as we continue to make each area which will get us closer to the finished artwork. The finished drawing will be finalized with color resulting in a artwork you will love!
Time Needed: 20 minutes

Form The Head
Outline the circular shape of the mongoose’s head. Then, add two curved lines on each side of the head.

Draw The Face
Add two circles for the eyes and a rounded shape for the nose. Form the snout by adding an oval around the nose. Finally, create the mouth by adding a line curving upwards at the bottom of the nose.

Outline The Body
Outline the mongoose’s body by creating an elongated shape.

Add The Legs
Draw the mongoose’s legs attached to its body similar to the illustration.

Attach The Tail
Attach a pointy curved shape at the bottom of the body to create the mongoose’s tail.

Complete The Mongoose Drawing
Let’s complete the mongoose’s drawing by first using a pink crayon to color the nose and inner ears. Use a black crayon to fill in the eyes. Use a light brown crayon to color the snout. Next, color the mongoose’s underbelly with a light gray crayon. Finally, use a gray crayon to color the rest of the mongoose’s body!
