Materials

We will complete a drawing of a monkey by crafting one area at a time. This project will take 9 steps in total as we continue to draw each area which will get us closer to the finished drawing. The final artwork will be completed with color resulting in a drawing you can be proud of!

Start Drawing The Face
Let’s start by forming the bottom part of the monkey’s face. First, draw a small oval with two dots for the nose. Then, draw a large oval shape connected to both sides of the nose as shown.

Draw The Eyes And Mouth
Now, draw two ovals for the eyes. Then, to form the mouth, draw a curved line with a small vertical line at the center.

Form The Head
First, outline the monkey’s head by drawing a curved line. Add a pointy shape on the top part of the head to add some fur. Next, draw the top of the monkey’s face by making a bumpy line as shown.

Draw The Body
Outline the monkey’s body by drawing a curved elongated shape. Next, form the monkey’s belly by creating a curved line on the body.

Attach The Tail
Draw the thin curvy shape of the monkey’s tail attached to the body.

Form The Limbs
Form the monkey’s limbs by drawing curved shapes as shown. Form a zigzag shape at the end of the limbs to add some fur texture.

Attach The Hands And Feet
Draw the monkey’s hands and feet by attaching rounded shapes with two lines to its limbs.

Draw A Vine
Draw a vine being held by the monkey by making two curved vertical lines.

Complete The Monkey Drawing
To complete our drawing of a playful little monkey, let’s add some color to it! First, use a pink crayon to color the nose. Next, use a light yellow crayon to shade the monkey’s face, belly, hands, feet, and inner ear. Now, use a brown crayon to fill in the rest of the monkey’s fur. Finally, use a green crayon to color the vine.
