How To Draw A Priest: All Steps

By the end of this lesson we will arrive at a finished drawing of a priest by creating one area at a time. This project will take 9 steps in total as we continue to create each section moving closer to the finished drawing. The completed work of art will be completed with color resulting in a work of art you will want to share with friends!

Time Needed: 30 minutes

  1. Draw The Head

    Outline a U-shaped line to draw the priest’s head.

  2. Add The Face

    First, draw two shaded dots for the eyes. Next, draw the nose, mouth and eyebrows with curved lines. Also, don’t forget to attach the ears!

  3. Outline The Hair

    Outline the priest’s hair as shown.

  4. Attach The Arms

    To draw the priest’s arms, create two curved lines starting from the bottom of the head as shown. Attach the hands to the arms using a small C curve.

  5. Draw The Priest’s Cassock

    Draw the priest’s cassock as a sharp U shape.

  6. Attach The Stole

    Then, draw the stole, a long band worn by priests, as shown.

  7. Add The Pectoral Cross

    Next, draw the pectoral cross that the priest wears as a necklace.

  8. Draw The Shoes

    Draw the priest’s shoes using two ovals.

  9. Complete The Priest Drawing

    To complete your drawing, finally color the priest’s cassock and shoes with a black crayon. Next, color the stole with a purple crayon. Pick a skin tone crayon to shade the priest’s head and hands. Don’t forget to color in the hair and pectoral cross with a yellow crayon.
