How to Draw a Puma

Materials
- Pencil
- Drawing Paper
- Crayons or Colored Pencils
- Black Marker (optional)

By the end of this lesson we will complete a drawing of a puma by drawing one area at a time. This project will take 9 steps in total as we continue to draw each area which will get us closer to the completed drawing. The final drawing will be detailed with color creating a drawing you will want to share with friends!

Draw The Eyes
First, create two shaded ovals.

Form The Nose And Mouth
Now, draw a triangle to form the nose. Next, form two circular shapes attached to the nose. After that, draw two vertical lines. Then, create a line curving upward to draw the mouth.

Add The Ears
Add the puma’s ears by first drawing two triangular shapes. Next, draw a curved line on top of the triangles as shown.

Form The Head
Form the puma’s head by drawing the rounded shape connected to the ears.

Outline The Body
Outline the elongated shape of the puma’s body.

Attach The Tail
Attach the thin wavy shape of the puma’s tail to its body.

Add The Legs
Add the puma’s legs attached to its body similar to the illustration. Don’t forget to draw the paws on the bottom of each leg by making a bumpy shape with curved lines as shown.

Draw The Underbelly
To draw the puma’s underbelly, create a vertical line from the bottom of the head to top of the foreleg. Then, draw a diagonal line in between the foreleg and the hind leg.

Complete The Puma Drawing
Let’s complete the puma drawing by adding some color! First, use a dark brown crayon to shade the nose, ears and tip of the tail. Next, use a very light brown crayon to shade the mouth and underbelly. Then, use a brown crayon to color the rest of the puma’s body.
