In today’s lesson, we will discover how to draw a raft on paper. The shape and proportion of each part will be observed in each step of the how-to article here. Note that the blue pencil lines are used to indicate the newest lines being drawn in each step.

Outline The Raft
Outline the raft by drawing a big oval.
Add The Opening Of The Raft
Add the opening of the raft by drawing a slightly smaller oval inside the first oval shape you drew.
Draw The Oar Locks
Draw the oar locks by creating two curved lines on each side of the raft.
Attach The Base Of The Oar Locks
Attach the base of the oar locks to the raft by drawing rectangular shapes as shown.
Draw The Oar Handles
Draw the handle of the oars by creating the long thin shape as shown.
Attach The Oar Blade
Attach the blade to the bottom of the oar by drawing a curved shape similar to the drawing shown here.
Form The Inner Part Of The Raft
Form the inner part of the raft by creating a curved line.
Draw The Lining On The Raft
Draw the lining on the raft by making a curved line as shown.
Complete The Raft Drawing
Let’s complete the raft drawing by coloring the raft mainly with a blue crayon. Color the inner part of the raft with a darker shade of blue as shown. Next, color the oar locks with a purple crayon. Then, color the oar handles with an orange crayon. Finally, shade the blade of the oar with a yellow crayon.
