How To Draw A Rattlesnake: All Steps

In today’s basic drawing lesson, we are going to discover how to draw a rattlesnake on paper. The location and proportion of each part will be pointed out in each step of the how-to article here. Observe that the blue outlines are used to indicate the newest components being drawn in each step.

  1. Outline The Head

    Draw a curved line to form the rattlesnake’s head.

  2. Draw The Face

    Next, draw a circle for the eye and a dot for the nostril. Then, add a wavy diagonal line for the mouth.

    Draw long curvy lines connected to the snake’s head to form its body.

    Now, outline the curling shape of the tail attached to the end of its body.

    Let’s add some color to our drawing of a rattlesnake! First, shade the eye with a black crayon and add a white shimmer to the eye. Next, color the underbelly with a cream colored crayon. Now, fill the rattle on the tail with an orange crayon. Then, fill the rattlesnake’s body with a brown crayon. Finally, add the spotted pattern along its body using a dark brown crayon.
