By the end of this lesson we will complete a drawing of a scarecrow by creating one part at a time. This project will take 6 steps in total as we continue to draw each part which will get us closer to the completed drawing. The final work of art will be completed with color resulting in a artwork you will be proud to show off!
Time Needed: 20 minutes
Draw The Head
First, form the scarecrow’s pumpkin head. Next, draw two shaded circles for the eyes and a curved line for the mouth.
Add The Hat
Add a hat on top of the scarecrow’s head.
Form The Clothes
Form the scarecrow’s clothes as shown.
Draw bits of straw sticking out from the hat and clothes.
Add The Pole
Draw vertical and horizontal poles coming out from the scarecrow’s clothes.
Complete The Scarecrow Drawing
Let’s complete the drawing of a scarecrow by adding some color! First, fill in the eyes and nose with a black crayon. Now, color the pumpkin head with an orange crayon. Next, shade the straw hat with a light yellow crayon. Fill in the hay sticking out from the hat and clothes with a dark yellow crayon. Then, color the clothes with blue and pink crayons. Finally, color the poles with a brown crayon.
