How to Draw a Skunk

Materials
- Pencil
- Drawing Paper
- Crayons or Colored Pencils
- Black Marker (optional)

The goal is to arrive at a finished drawing of a skunk by working on one part at a time. It will take 9 steps in total as we continue to create each area which will get us closer to the finished work of art. The finished work of art will be detailed with color making it a artwork you will want to share with friends!

Outline The Head
Outline the shape of the skunk’s head as shown.

Draw The Eye And Nose
Draw the skunk’s eye by making an oval. Next, create a small curved line to form its nose.

Outline The Body
Outline the shape of the skunk’s body by forming an elongated shape similar to the illustration.

Attach The Ear
Attach the visible ear by drawing a semicircle.

Form The Limbs
Form the shape of the skunk’s limbs as shown. Outline the shape of the skunk’s feet on the bottom of each limb. Then, draw two curved lines on each foot as shown.

Outline The Tail
Outline the bumpy shape of the skunk’s fluffy tail to its body.

Draw The Tail Stripe
Now, draw the stripe on the skunk’s tail by drawing two bumpy lines following the shape of its tail.

Draw The Body Stripe
Continue the same bumpy stripe along the skunk’s body as shown. The stripe on a skunk is a well known warning sign to stay away or you might get sprayed!

Complete The Skunk Drawing
Let’s add some color to our drawing of a skunk by first shading the eye, nose, ears and feet with a black crayon. Add some highlights to the skunk’s eye using a white crayon. Now, shade the top part of the skunk’s body and middle part of the tail with a white crayon. Then, fill in the rest of the skunk’s body with a gray crayon.
