How to Draw a Sloth

In today’s post, we are going to learn how to draw a sloth on paper. The location and proportion of each part will be observed in each step of the lesson. Observe that the blue pencil lines are used to indicate the new shapes being drawn in each in each of the steps.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

1. Outline The Face

   

   Draw an oval shape to outline the sloth’s face.

2. Draw The Eyes, Nose And Mouth

   

   First, draw two shaded circles for the eyes. Next, form a small oval for the nose. Then, draw a curved line for the mouth.

3. Draw The Eye Pattern

   

   Draw the sloth’s eye pattern by forming a curved line around its eyes.

4. Outline The Head

   

   Outline the sloth’s head by drawing a curved line around the face.

5. Outline The Body

   

   Next, outline the oval shape of the sloth’s body as shown.

6. Add A Tree Branch

   

   Let’s add a tree branch for the sloth to cling on! To draw a tree branch, create two long wavy lines curving upward.

7. Attach The Limbs

   

   Form the sloth’s limbs attached to its body by drawing elongated shapes as shown.

8. Form The Claws

   

   Form the visible claws of the sloth by drawing pointed shapes at the end of its limbs.

9. Complete The Sloth Drawing

   

   Let’s complete our sloth drawing by adding some color! First, shade the sloth’s face with a white crayon. Next, fill in the claws, nose, and eye pattern with a dark brown crayon. Then, use a dark yellow crayon to color the rest of the sloth’s body. Finally, don’t forget to color the tree branch with a brown crayon!
