In this step by step lesson, we are going to discover how to draw a tree frog with your drawing materials. Be sure to observe the different sizes and shapes within the artwork of the tree frog. The pencil lines in each step is outlined in blue so you can identify the current shapes that you should be creating.

Form The Eyes
Draw two circles to outline the tree frog’s eyes. Next, form a smaller circle inside each drawn eye to draw its pupils.

Outline The Head
Now, outline the shape of the frog’s head similar to the illustration.

Add The Left Foreleg
Draw the thin shape of its left foreleg attached to its head. Then, form its toes similar to the illustration.

Form The Body
Form the shape of the amphibian’s body attached to its head as shown.

Attach The Right Foreleg
Next, form the curving shape of the frog’s right foreleg connected to its body.

Draw The Left Hind Leg
Start by drawing the folded shape of the tree frog’s left hind leg. Then, draw the toes attached to the hind leg as shown.

Attach The Right Hind Leg
Now, draw an oval shape to form its right hind leg. Then, draw the shape of its toes connected to the bottom of the leg.

Create A Tree Branch
Create a tree branch for the frog to rest on by drawing two diagonal lines.

Complete The Tree Frog Drawing
Let’s add some color to our drawing of a tree frog! First, fill the pupils with a black crayon. Next, color the outside portion of its eyes with a red crayon. Now, shade the underbelly with a white crayon and color the toes with an orange crayon. Then, shade the rest of the tree frog’s body and legs with a green crayon. Finally, color the tree branch with a brown crayon.
