In this tutorial, we will learn how to draw a troodon with your drawing materials. Pay attention to the different sizes and shapes within the artwork of the troodon. The pencil lines in each step is outlined in blue so you can plainly see the most recent shapes that you should be creating.

Outline The Head
Outline the head of the troodon similar to the illustration.

Attach The Feathers
Draw a spiky shape attached to the head to form the feathers.

Create The Face
Draw a small circle for its eye. Next, add a curved line to form its snout.

Form The Body
Draw an oval shape to form the dinosaur’s body.

Add The Tail
Attach a long, pointy, narrow shape to form the tail of the troodon.

Draw The Legs
Add the shape of its legs attached to the lower torso.

Attach The Claws
Draw its sharp claws at the bottom of the legs.

Add The Arms
Add the shape of its feathery arms similar to the illustration.

Complete The Troodon Drawing
Let’s add color to our Troodon drawing! First use a red crayon to color the feathers on top of its head. Then, use an orange crayon to shade the snout, feathers on its arm, and its claws. Next, use a light orange crayon to color the troodon’s body. Finally, add a yellow highlight on its back!
