In this step by step lesson, we will discover how to draw a wedding cake with basic drawing tools. Pay attention to the various sizes and shapes within the artwork of the wedding cake. The lines in each step is outlined in blue so you can see the most recent parts that you should be drawing.

Form Topmost Layer
Start by forming the topmost layer of the cake by drawing an oval, then attaching a U-shaped line below the oval. Don’t forget to draw the decorative frosting by creating a bumpy line.

Draw Middle Layer
Draw the middle layer of the wedding cake by adding another oval with a U-shaped line attached below it. Add the frosting by drawing a bumpy line. Erase parts of the middle layer overlapping with the topmost layer.

Add Bottom Layer
Add the bottom layer of the wedding cake by drawing an oval with a U-shaped attached. Then, draw the frosting by making a squiggly line. Make sure this cake layer is the largest.

Draw The Cake Stand
Draw the cake stand by creating an oval. Then, form the side of the cake stand by drawing a U-shape. Draw the evenly sized bumps to add some elegant decorations to the cake stand.

Decorate With Flowers
Decorate the wedding cake with flowers. Start by drawing a circle. Then, draw the petals as shown.

Add Leaves
Draw V-shaped lines on the sides of the flower to add the leaves.

Draw The Groom
Attach the groom on the wedding cake. First, draw the circle for the head. Then, draw an inverted triangular shape as shown to draw the coat.

Add The Bride
Next, add the bride beside the groom. First, draw the head. Then, draw the gown and veil by forming the shapes as shown.

Complete The Wedding Cake Drawing
Let’s finish the wedding cake by first coloring the frosting of the wedding cake and the side of the cake stand with a pink crayon. Next, color the flowers with a red crayon and the leaves with a green crayon. Then, shade the top of the cake stand with a blue crayon. Now, color the heads of the bride and groom with a pink crayon then use a white crayon to color the veil and gown of the bride. Lastly, color the coat of the groom with a black crayon.
