How To Draw A Zebra: All Steps

In today’s lesson, we will discover how to draw a zebra on paper. The location and proportion of each part will be observed in each step of the tutorial. Take notice that the blue lines are used to show the new elements being created in each in each of the steps.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Outline The Head

    Draw a curved shape to outline the zebra’s head.

  2. Add The Face And Ears

    First, draw two shaded circles for the eyes. Next, create an oval with two dots to form the snout. Draw a line curving upwards for the mouth. Then, create two pointed shapes on top of the zebra’s head to draw its ears.

  3. Form The Body And Tail

    Form the elongated outline of the zebra’s body. To draw the tail, attach two vertical lines with a pointed tip to the zebra’s body. Don’t forget to add the jagged outline of the zebra’s mane on top of its body as shown.

  4. Add The Legs

    Add thin long shapes below the zebra’s body to draw its legs. Form the hooves by creating curved lines near the bottom of each leg.

  5. Create The Pattern

    Create the striped pattern on the zebra’s head and along its body by making thin V-shaped lines.

  6. Complete The Zebra Drawing

    Let’s complete our drawing of a zebra by adding some color! First, use a black crayon to shade the zebra’s mane, snout, hooves, the tip of its tail and the stripes all over its body. Next, use a pink crayon to fill in the inner ears. Then, shade the rest of the zebra’s body with a white crayon.
