How To Draw An Apartment: All Steps

By the end of this lesson we will arrive at a finished drawing of an apartment by creating one area at a time. The drawing will take 6 steps to complete as we continue to draw each area moving closer to the completed drawing. The final drawing will be beautified with color resulting in a drawing you can be proud of!

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Form The Building

    Start by drawing a big rectangular shape to form the walls of the apartment. Next, add a thin horizontal strip on top to draw the roof.

  2. Draw The Windows

    Now, form the rectangular windows. Then, add a horizontal line near the bottom of each window.

  3. Add The Door

    Draw the rectangular outline of the door then add a small rectangular glass window.

  4. Attach The Emergency Exit Railings

    First, draw a long horizontal rod with three short vertical rods attached to form the railings of the emergency exit. Then, add the rectangular outline connected to the bottom of the railings.

  5. Form The Ladders

    Form two vertical rods attached to the base of the emergency exit platform. Then, draw evenly spaced horizontal rods in between to add the steps of the ladder .

  6. Complete The Apartment Drawing

    Let’s add some color to our drawing of an apartment! First, use a dark red crayon to fill the roof, ladders as well as the framing of the door and windows. Next, color the glass of the door and windows with a light blue crayon. Use a brown crayon to shade the door. Now, paint the walls with a pink crayon. Then, color the railings with a gray crayon and a blue crayon to shade the base of the emergency exit platform.
