How to Draw an Apple Pie

By the end of this lesson we will complete a drawing of apple pie by crafting one part at a time. It will take 9 steps in total as we continue to draw each area which will get us closer to the finished artwork. The completed artwork will be perfected with color making it a work of art you will love!

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Form The Outer Crust

   

   Draw a wavy C-shape to form the outer crust of the apple pie.

2. Add The Bottom Of The Apple Pie

   

   Add the bottom of the apple pie by creating a U-shaped line.

3. Draw The Sliced Part Of The Apple Pie

   

   Draw the sliced part of the apple pie similar to the illustration. Next, create a triangular shape on the bottom left of the apple pie.

4. Add Ice Cream Scoop

   

   Outline the shape of the scoop of ice cream. Then, add texture by drawing short wavy horizontal lines. Erase parts of the apple pie that overlap with the scoop of ice cream.

5. Form The Shape Of The Apple Pie

   

   First, draw the visible side of the slice of apple pie as shown. Next, outline the crust part.

6. Add Lattice Crust

   

   Add the lattice crust of the apple pie by drawing evenly spaced diagonal lines.

7. Continue Drawing Lattice Crust

   

   Continue drawing the lattice crust of the apple pie by drawing short diagonal lines to the opposite direction as shown.

8. Draw The Plates

   

   Draw an oval beneath the entire apple pie and the slice of apple pie. Add curved lines inside the ovals as shown.

9. Complete The Apple Pie Drawing

   

   Finally, let’s add some colors to the apple pie drawing by first shading the crust with an orange crayon. Next, color the sides of the entire apple pie with a light brown crayon. Now, color the fillings with a mixture of brown and dark orange crayons. Then, shade the scoop of ice cream with a white or light yellow crayon. Lastly, color the plates with a blue crayon then add hints of purple to add some shadow.
