How To Draw An Elk: All Steps

In this tutorial, we will start off with a new piece of paper and learn how to draw an elk in 9 instructive steps. It’s best if we pay attention to the proportions of each part of the elk.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

  1. Form The Head

    First, outline the shape of the head. Next, draw a shaded oval for the eye. Now, draw the curved shape of the nose. Then, create the curved line for the mouth.

  2. Attach The Ear

    Attach the ear by drawing a pointed line. Then, form a triangular shape to draw the inner part of the ear.

  3. Form The Antlers

    Form the branch-like shape of the elk’s antlers as shown.

  4. Draw The Mane

    Draw the elk’s fluffy mane attached to the head.

  5. Add The Body

    Add the elk’s body by drawing a wavy elongated shape. Don’t forget to outline the elk’s rump by drawing a bumpy curved line.

    Attach the elk’s four legs below its body.

    Draw a hoof attached to the end of each leg by first outlining the shape of the hoof then adding a curved line inside.

    Attach the small pointy shape of the elk’s tail to the left side of its body.

  9. Complete The Elk Drawing

    Let’s complete the elk drawing by first coloring the antlers with a yellow crayon. Next, use a very light brown crayon to shade the tail, rump and inner ears. Now, color the mane with a brown crayon. Then, fill in the nose and hooves with a black crayon. Finally, use a light orange crayon to fill in the rest of the elk’s body.
