In this beginner’s lesson, we are going to learn how to draw flip flops with your drawing materials. We will consider the various sizes and shapes of each part of the flip flops. The lines in each step is made of blue so you can plainly see the current components that you should be creating.
Time Needed: 20 minutes
Outline The Soles
Outline the soles of the flip flops by making the elongated shape similar to the illustration.
Draw The Sides Of The Soles
Draw the visible side of the sole by forming a line following the curves on the bottom of the sole as shown.
Attach The Straps
Attach the straps by forming the curved shape in the illustration.
Add Strap Details
Add the strap details by drawing curved lines following the twist of the strap.
Draw The Toe Post
Draw the toe post by making a U-shaped line.
Complete The Flip Flops Drawing
Let’s finish the flip flops drawing by adding colors! First, shade the top part of the sole with a yellow crayon. Next, color the sides of the sole with an orange crayon. Now, fill in the straps and toe post with a red crayon. Finally, shade the inner part of the straps lightly with a purple crayon as shown.
