In this beginner’s lesson, we are going to learn how to draw indominus rex with your drawing materials. We will consider the different sizes and shapes of each part of the indominus rex. The pencil lines in each step is drawn blue so you can observe the most recent shapes that you should be creating.
Time Needed: 30 minutes

Draw The Head
Outline the shape of the head similar to the illustration. Make sure to emphasize the dinosaur’s horn!

Create The Face
Draw a small circle to create the eye. Then, add a small dot for its nostril.

Form The Teeth
Form small V-shape lines inside its mouth to draw its jagged teeth..

Outline The Body
Attach an oval shape to the head to form the dinosaur’s body.

Attach The Tail
Draw a long pointed tail attached to its body.

Add The Arms
Draw the shape of the therapod’s short arms. Add its sharp claws attached to the ends of its arms.

Draw The Legs
Draw the shape of its strong legs attached to its body. Emphasize the razor sharp claws on its feet as shown.

Form The Spikes
Draw several narrow V-shaped lines along its arm, back, and tail to form the spikes.

Complete The Indominus Rex Drawing
Let us complete our indominus rex illustration! First, use a white crayon to fill in the teeth. Next, color the eye with a red crayon. Use an orange crayon to fill in the spikes on its body. Then, shade the underbelly with a yellow crayon. Finally, use a green crayon to color the rest of the dinosaur’s body.
