How to Draw Musk Ox

The goal is to arrive at a finished drawing of a musk ox by creating one part at a time. This project will take 6 steps in total as we continue to create each part moving closer to the finished drawing. The final drawing will be completed with color creating a artwork you can be proud of!

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Create The Face

   

   Create two shaded ovals to draw the musk ox’s eyes. Next, form the nose by drawing an oval with two dots. Add a line curving upwards below the nose to form the mouth.

2. Outline The Head

   

   Outline the shape of the musk ox’s head by creating a diagonal line connected to its nose.

3. Draw The Ears And Horns

   

   First, draw the curved and pointed shape of the musk ox’s horns on top of its head. Then, add the small pointed shape of its ears above its horns as shown.

4. Form The Body

   

   Form the curvy shape of the musk ox’s body. Add some zigzag shapes on the bottom to emphasize its long shaggy coat.

5. Attach The Legs

   

   Attach the ox’s legs below its body. Form the shape of its hooves attached to the bottom of each leg as shown.

6. Complete The Musk Ox Drawing

   

   Let’s now color our musk ox drawing by first shading the horns and hooves with a light yellow crayon. Next, fill in the inner ears, nose and mouth with a pink crayon. Color the head, legs, and outer ears with a light brown crayon. Finally, shade the musk ox’s coat using orange and brown crayons.
