How to Draw Poison Dart Frog

We will complete a drawing of a poison dart frog by drawing one part at a time. The drawing will take 6 steps in total as we continue to create each part moving closer to the completed work of art. The final work of art will be detailed with color resulting in a artwork you will be proud to show off!

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Form The Eyes

   

   Start by drawing two bumps to form the top eyelids. Next, draw a circle to outline the visible eye. Then, draw a smaller circle to form its pupil.

2. Outline The Body

   

   Now, outline the elongated shape of the frog’s body.

3. Add The Nostril And Mouth

   

   Next, draw a dot for its nostril and a wavy line for its mouth.

4. Attach The Forelegs

   

   Then, form the shape of the poison dart frog’s long, curved forelegs attached to its torso. Don’t forget to draw its long toes!

5. Draw The Hind Legs

   

   Now, draw the folded shape of the amphibian’s hind legs similar to the illustration.

6. Complete The Poison Dart Frog Drawing

   

   Let’s add some color to our drawing of the poison dart frog! First, fill the pupil with a black crayon. Next, shade the rest of its eye and underbelly with a light blue crayon. Now, add black rounded spots on its body and legs. Then, color the rest of the frog’s body with a darker shade of blue.
