How to Draw Vampire Bat

In today’s lesson, we are going to learn how to draw vampire bat on paper. The shape and proportion of each part will be highlighted in each step of the tutorial. Note that the blue lines are used to indicate the newest lines being drawn in each step.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

1. Draw A Face

   

   First, we draw to oval shapes for bat’s eyes. We can now add the nose by drawing a curved oval with two dots. Next, form a curvy line for the mouth then attach two small, V-shapes for its fangs.

2. Outline The Head

   

   Outline the head by forming a circular shape. Don’t forget to add a little point on the top of the bat’s head to highlight its fur.

3. Attach The Ears

   

   Outline the ears by first drawing a pointed shape and then adding a curved line to form the flaps.

4. Draw The Body

   

   Draw the body by creating a rounded U-shape below the head. Next, attach the tail by drawing a V-shaped line.

5. Add The Clawed Feet

   

   Add the clawed feet by drawing a small oval shape with pointed ends at the bottom.

6. Draw The Arms

   

   Attach the bat’s arms by drawing two pointy shapes on each side of the body as shown.

7. Form The Wing’s Membrane

   

   Outline the bat wing’s membrane by drawing a pointy line attached from one end of the bat’s arm to the other.

8. Add The Fingers

   

   Create the fingers by drawing lines from the arm going to the pointed parts of the wing membrane.

9. Complete The Vampire Bat Drawing

   

   Let’s add color to our vampire bat drawing! First, use a pink crayon to color the bat’s wing membrane, nose and inner ears. Next, use a black crayon to shade the eyes and add a sparkle using a white crayon. Don’t forget to shade the fangs using a white crayon. Then, use a purple crayon to color the rest of the bat’s body.
