Ice Cream Sundae Drawing

In this basic drawing tutorial, we will learn how to create an ice cream sundae drawing on paper. To look the best, we will pay attention to the different sizes and shapes of each part of the ice cream sundae. The drawn lines in each illustration is made of blue so you can observe the current lines that you will be drawing.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Draw The Bowl

   

   Draw the bowl by creating a U-shape with pointed edges as shown.

2. Attach The Base

   

   Attach the base of the bowl by drawing an oval and linking it with two curved lines.

3. Draw First Scoop

   

   Draw the first scoop of ice cream by making a squiggly curved line.

4. Add Second Scoop

   

   Add the second scoop of ice cream beside the first one by drawing another squiggly curved line.

5. Add Third Scoop

   

   Add the third scoop of ice cream by drawing a squiggly curved line behind the first two scoops.

6. Place Cherries On Top

   

   Place cherries on top of each ice cream scoop by drawing a circular blob as shown.

7. Draw Syrup

   

   Draw some syrup on the ice cream scoops by making irregular wavy lines like in the illustration.

8. Add Wafer Sticks

   

   Add some wafer sticks to our ice cream sundae by drawing inverted narrow U-shaped lines. Draw some diagonal lines to create the pattern on the wafer sticks. Don’t forget to draw the opening of the wafer sticks with a curved line to add some form to your illustration.

9. Complete The Ice Cream Sundae Drawing

   

   Finalize the ice cream sundae drawing by adding some color! First, color the glass bowl with a blue crayon. Next, use a red crayon to shade the cherries on top. Then, color the wafers with light and dark brown crayons alternatingly. Now, color the ice cream scoops with light brown, orange and pink crayons. Lastly, color the syrup with dark brown, purple and red crayons.
