Iguanodon Drawing: All Steps

In today’s lesson, we will learn how to make an iguanodon drawing on paper. The shape and proportion of each part will be pointed out in each step of the tutorial. Take notice that the blue outlines are used to show the current shapes being drawn in each in each of the steps.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Outline The Head

    Iguanodon Drawing: Step 1

    Outline the elongated shape of the iguanadon’s head as shown.

  2. Draw The Face

    Draw a small circle for its eye. Next, add a curved line to form its beak. Then, draw a small dot for its nostril.

  3. Form The Body

    Form the oval shape of the iguanadon’s body. Then, connect its pointed tail at the end of its body.

  4. Add The Legs

    Add the dinosaur’s thin legs attached to the bottom of its body. Form the claws by drawing small curved lines on its toes.

  5. Attach The Arms

    Attach the iguanadon’s long arms to its torso. Then, draw a small triangular shape on each hand to form its conical thumb.

  6. Complete The Iguanadon Drawing

    Let’s color our iguanadon drawing. Start by shading its beak, conical thumb and claws with a yellow crayon. Next, color its body, arms and legs with a light brown crayon. Then, use a dark brown crayon to add some striped patterns along the iguanadon’s body.
