Lynx Drawing: All Steps

In this lesson, we will begin with a new piece of paper and learn how to create a lynx drawing in a series of steps. It makes sense to pay attention to the shape and size of each part of the lynx.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

  1. First Draw The Eyes

    First, draw two shaded ovals to form the eyes.

  2. Form The Nose And Mouth

    Now, draw a small triangle for the nose. Then, create two rounded shapes attached to both sides of the nose. To form the bottom of the mouth, create a line curving upwards.

  3. Add The Ears

    To add the ears, draw two triangles. Then, create a pointed line on top of both triangles as shown.

  4. Outline The Head

    Outline the furry shape of the lynx’s head by drawing a jagged shape.

  5. Draw The Fur Pattern On Its Face

    Now, draw the fur pattern on the lynx’s cheeks by making a pointed horizontal line. Next, create an oval around its eyes as shown.

  6. Outline The Body

    Outline the shape of the lynx’s body by making an oval shape.

  7. Attach The Tail

    Draw the lynx’s short tail attached to its body by creating a curved line as shown.

  8. Form The Legs

    Now, form the legs of the lynx attached to the bottom of its body. Emphasize the large paws by drawing a bump on the bottom of the legs as shown.

  9. Complete The Lynx Drawing

    Complete the lynx drawing by adding some color! First, use a very light brown crayon to shade the bottom part of the lynx’s head, the underbelly and the inner part of its ears. Next, fill in the lynx’s nose, pointed part of its ears and the tip of its tail with a dark brown crayon. Then, color the rest of the lynx’s body with a brown crayon. Lastly, add spots on its fur using a dark brown crayon as shown.
