In today’s lesson, we are going to discover how to draw a pickaxe drawing on paper. The shape and proportion of each part will be highlighted in each step of the lesson. Note that the blue outlines are used to show the new shapes being drawn in each in each of the steps.
Time Needed: 20 minutes
Form The Handle
Form the long rod-shaped handle of the pickaxe.
Draw The Pickaxe Head
Draw the pickaxe head attached to the top part of the handle.
Attach The Pick
Draw the long pointed shape of the pick connected to the right side of the pickaxe head.
Form The Adze
Form the triangular-like outline of the adze attached to the left side of the pickaxe head.
Add The Texture
Draw short straight lines on the handle of the pickaxe to add a wooden texture to it.
Complete The Pickaxe Drawing
Let’s add some color to our drawing of a pickaxe! First, color the handle with an orange crayon. Next, color the pickaxe head with shades of gray.
