Triceratops Drawing Easy: All Steps

In this tutorial, we will discover how to create triceratops drawing easily on paper. To ensure the artwork is successful, we will pay attention to the different sizes and shapes of each part of the triceratops. The lines in each illustration is drawn blue so you can see the current shapes that you will be working on.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

  1. Outline The Head

    First, form a beak using a V-shape. Don’t forget to add a line below the V-shape to add the jaw.

  2. Draw The Eye

    Draw a circle to form the eye.

  3. Create The Beak

    Create a curved line to draw the beak. Then, add a small dot for the nostril.

  4. Outline The Frill

    Outline the frill on top of the triceratops’ head by drawing a wavy line.

  5. Attach The Horns

    Attach two long sharp horns on top of the herbivorous dinosaur’s head. Next, add a smaller horn on top of its snout.

  6. Add The Spikes

    Attach small V-shapes to the triceratops’ frill.

  7. Outline The Body

    Outline the body of the dinosaur by drawing an oval shape. Make sure to add a pointy shape at the end of the oval to create the triceratops tail.

  8. Add The Legs

    Draw the shape of the triceratops’ legs attached to the bottom of its body. Add small curved shapes at the bottom of each leg.

  9. Complete The Triceratops Drawing

    Let’s give life to our herbivorous dinosaur! First use a black crayon to fill in the eyes. Next, color the beak with a yellow crayon. Then, use a white crayon to shade the horns, spikes, and toes of the triceratops. Finally, color the body with a green crayon.
