Time Needed: 30 minutes
Outline The Head
Outline the shape of the warthog’s head as shown.
Form The Face
First, draw two ovals for the eyes. Next, create a rounded rectangle for the nose with two shaded ovals for the nostrils. Create the snout by adding two L-shaped lines attached to the head.
Add The Tusks
Add the warthog’s tusks by drawing pointed shapes facing upward on each side of its snout. Then, add smaller pointed shapes on both sides of the snout.
Attach The Ears
Attach pointed shapes on top of the warthog’s head to create its ears. Next, create a diagonal line inside each ear.
Form The Body
Form the curvy elongated shape of the warthog’s body.
Attach The Mane
Attach the warthog’s mane by creating a furry shape on top of the body.
Add The Legs
Add the legs at the bottom of the warthog’s body as shown in the illustration. Don’t forget to add horizontal lines to the ends of each leg to form the hooves.
Draw The Tail
To draw the tail, create a thin, wavy line at the end of the body. Then add a pointy shape to form the tip of the warthog’s tail.
Complete The Warthog Drawing
Let’s give life to this drawing by shading in our warthog outlines! First, use a black crayon to shade eyes, nose, mane, hooves, and tip of the warthog’s tail. Next, use a white crayon to color the tusks and a dark brown crayon to fill in the inner ears. Finally, let’s use a brown crayon to shade the rest of the warthog’s body.
